Moses Thompson Tollett, 82, prominent retired farmer and resident of this county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Tom T Brown, Nine Mile community, Bledsoe county on February 13 after a long illness.
Funeral services were at the Methodist church in Melvin with burial at the Tollett cemetery, Litton.
He was born in Bledsoe county, but lived most of his life here, serving in various official capacities. At the time he died, he was a member of the beer and poor commissions of this county.
His parents were E G and Nancy Sherrill Tollett, who had 11 sons and 4 daughters; he was the last member of their family. He was a brother of E G Tollet, former State Senator.
He is survived by his wife, Candace Patton Tollet; one son, Casto, Litton; 3 daughters, Mrs Brown, in whose home he passed away; Mrs T A Swafford and Mrs Paul Hughes, who live here; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
