William George Moore, a long time resident of Silver City, was found dead at his residence on Saturday morning last. He was alone in the house for the night before, as his wife had gone to her daughter's for the night. It is thought that the cause of death was from freezing, since the fire in the stove had evidently gone out early the evening before.

The deceased several years ago was a druggist in Silver City. He leaves a wife and three children. The children living are Charles Moore and Mrs. Laura Dunagan of Silver City and James Reno Moore of Malvern. A son Thomas Allen Moore died about a year ago.

W.G. Moore pioneer druggist and general merchandise store owner, was one of the first settlers of Silver City and built the second building in 1879 in which he operated a drug store. He attended Drake University for two years with a view to practice medicine, but changed to alchemy. He moved to Silver City in 1879 and was active in community affairs, a member of the school board and anything for the betterment of the community, a member of I.O.O.F. and the A.F.& A.M. At the time of his death he was the oldest early settler in Silver City.
