Mr. Socratus Glendening Boswell, 57, entered into rest Monday, December 15, 1938, at the residence on the Wrightsboro road, Augusta, Georgia, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at the Marks Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Reverend P.C. Harrell and the Reverend C.H. Camp will officiate and interment will be in the Pierce Chapel cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Reynolds, Arthur Jackson, Beaufort Phillips, George Sleister, Charles Holmes and Earl Jackson. Mr. Boswell was a retired machinist for the Charleston and Western railroad. He was a native of McCormick County, but had lived in Richmond County virtually all his life. The deceased is survived by his wife; Mrs. Sadie Cordelia Luke Boswell; two sons, Luther B. Boswell of Spartanburg, S.C., and Johnnie F. Boswell of Augusta; one brother, Ezra Boswell of Martinez, Georgia and two grandchildren.
