Born in Amelia County on March 21, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Nancy Hopkins Beverley and was married to the late Lee Roy Coates.
Margaret was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Her work career began at Halifax Community Hospital followed by Clinic Pharmacy and later with Creative Cakes.
Left to cherish her memories are sons, Michael Leroy Coates; Edward Dewey Coates and wife, Kim and; grandson, Brandon Lee Coates.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Lacks and Orene Yeatts and brother, Jimmy Beverley.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Reverend Kevin Moen officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 6:30 – 8 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
