On Monday, March 22, 2021 Woody Ray Abel passed away at age 82. Woody was a loving father, grandpa and great grandpa.

Woody was born September 2, 1938 in Vera to Anna Mae Ringer Larimore and Pete Abel. He grew up in the Vera area.

Woody married Sharon Yvonne Roberts October 23, 1970 and they made a life together in Collinsville, then in Vera until Sharon suddenly passed away April 6, 2017.

Woody was a talented welder and worked in that field until he retired in 2009. He could build, repair, remodel anything he put his mind to. He really enjoyed making things that Sharon would design and ask him to do. And he always knew that if he made one, he had to make six more for each of the girls.

Woody was devoted to his family and friends and known for being there to help anyone who needed it.

Woody was preceded in death by his father, Pete, his mother, Anna Mae, stepdad, Larry, his wife, Sharon, his brother, Don Abel, and Great granddaughter Ginny Hope Jones. He is survived by his six daughters, Crystal Brown and husband Kevin, Ralene Jones and husband Kent, Karen Russell, Jenene Atzback and husband Ray, Melanie Jones Glick and husband Mark, and Brandi Hedland. Eight Grandchildren and sixteen Great Grandchildren, his brother Herman Abel, as well as nieces, nephews, and two very special sisters-in-law.
