LEROY was the son Of Chas.R. & Jink O Warren. At age 34, he left behind a widow, Beatrice Bowles Warren & two small children, Bobby Joe Warren 7 Jun 1929-15 Aug 1993 & Robbie Opal Warren 1 Jun 1931-7 Jun 2005.1st Spouse & Parents links from H. C.Ouzts below is his research:

Historical Data of the Nicholson-Adams and Allied Families - Mrs. J. L. Mims, 1944, pp. 21-27

History of the McDowell Family in Edgefield, South Caroline, Talbert Jefferson McDowell, August 1992, p. 2 as "Elvie"

Peter Ouzts I and His Descendants, by Hortense Woodson, 1949, p. 103 as "Elsie"

The Census however have him married to Beatrice in both 1930 and 1940. The 1930 Census asked the age of the first marriage, and according to that information this appeared to be a first marriage for Leroy. Perhaps the marriage to Elsie was not long, so he did not account for it, BUT Elsie is a buried as a "Warren" ???

There is an "Elsie Mae Warren" m. Cole C. Warren in Henderson Co, TX in both 1930 and 1940, but this appears to be Elsie Mae JANUARY Warren, not a McDOWELL ??

January 2016 e-mail from Rhonda Carmody "Leroy was my mom's uncle. He married Beatrice Bowles in 1929 and they were still married when he died in August 1940."

I also talked to Beatrice Bowles' neice, Sherrie Welch and she said Leroy's only wife was Beatrice.
