from the Republican for Sept. 23, 1886:
A very enjoyable family reunion occurred on the 19th instant at the residence of Mrs. Elizabeth Leach, one mile south of Lizton. The venerable lady that day reached her 82nd year. She is the relict of Mr. Enos Leach, who died in 1870, aged 69. The couple lived most exemplary lives, respected and loved by all who knew them. They were pioneers in this county fifty years ago. Their numerous progeny gave the mother a surprise on the day mentioned. The grandchildren present were thirty one, and by a pleasing coincidence there were present the same number of great-grandchildren. James E. Scott, ex-trustee of Union Township, being the oldest grandchild and his daughter, the oldest great-grandchild. Mrs. George Leak was the only one of the first children not living and present at the reunion. She died 18 years ago of meningitis, three of her children following in rapid succession, stricken by the same disease.
from the Brownsburg Record for Feb. 13, 1891:
Lizton - The mother of Jas. Leach is still living but she is near the close of this life - she is very old.
