Joseph Roof died at his home in Dellroy at 3 o'clock Tuesday morning. His remains were interred at Union Valley yesterday. His age was about 71 years.
Deceased was one of the best known farmers in Carroll County. He was married three times to a Miss Burtsfield, Miss Close and Miss Rainsberger. The latter survives him, together with sons William, John, Sherman, Joseph and James, and also a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Black. His aged brothers, John, Wilson and Fred L. Roof, and sisters, Mrs. Richard Scott and Mrs. Roudebaugh, also survive. Mr. Roof was a kind-hearted and inoffensive man and will be sincerely mourned by all who knew him.
