FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR MRS. H.N. RICKEY,

Wife of Former Editor, 66, Was Illinois Native and Active in Democratic Club.


Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Odor Rickey, 66, who died Thursday night in the Washington Sanitarium, Takoma Park, Md., were held today in the Cahpel of the Resurrection of the Washington Cathedral. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Rickey was the wife of Harry N. Rickey, former editor in chief of the Cleveland Press and the Washington Dailey News. Born in Decatur, Ill., she was graduated from the Armour Institute, Chicago, and for some time was reference librarian at the Cleveland Public Library. Mrs. Rickey came to Washington about 15 years ago and was active in the National Women's Democratic Club, serving as a member of its board of governors.

Prior to her illness Mrs. Rickey lived in the Shoreham Hotel. Besides her husband, among survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Henry Bellows, Minneapolis, and a son, John Rickey, New York.
