Lawrence E. Greis, 77, of Crescent Springs, formerly of Ft. Thomas, KY, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

Larry retired from pharmaceutical sales after many years as a sales representative. Larry thoroughly enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his family. He had an uncanny knack for wildlife identification, sharing his knowledge with his children. And much to the chagrin of those same impatient children, never let a bronze historical plaque go unread. His children now instill history and culture on his grandchildren in the same exact manner. He had a passion for camping, hiking, hunting, and shooting sports. Over many years as a member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and the North-South Skirmish Association he won many medals in competitive shooting; often shooting alongside his children. He shared his love of the sport as an NRA firearms and hunter education course instructor, passing on his knowledge to numerous children and adults while he served as a member of the Bob White Club in Alexandria, Kentucky, and even as a much younger man at Camp Marydale in Erlanger. Larry also had an incredible artistic gift. He painted several beautiful pieces of artwork that hang in his home and the homes of his children. In addition to paintings, he was a self-taught skilled woodworker, leatherworker, and had hand built traditional muzzle loading rifles which were historically authentic and accurate on the range. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and in years past had been a church lector. He was a deeply spiritual man whose faith in God anchored him in his greatest mission in life, which was to raise a wonderful family that instilled in subsequent generations a passion for both kindness and fairness. His mission was achieved, and his family is so proud of the life he led and the model he set.

Larry was born in Covington, KY on September 4, 1943 to the late Ervin and Hilda (nee: Simon) Greis.

Larry is survived by his Wife, JoAnn (nee: Nicholson) Greis, Daughters, Laura (Ron) Rohling, Maria (Greg) Kohls, Katey (Daniel) Meadows, Sons, David (Victoria) Greis, Tim (Stephanie) Greis, Grandchildren, Ross, Zach, Andrew, Corryn, Scarlett, Ronan, Ian, Isaac, Amelia, Thomas & Benjamin, Sisters, Mary Lee (Dick) Vennemann, Donna (Jack) Keuper, Kathleen (Bill) Donlin, Brother in law, Richard J. (Suzanne) Nicholson, Sister in law, Arleen (Ron) Wood, also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
