Obit: Honesdale, PA - Minnie Branning of Honesdale,73, formerly of Equinunk, and a resident of the Stourbridge Apartments, Honesdale, a retired employee of Camp Equinunk, died unexpectedly Friday,February 6, 1998, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. Born Febrary 29, 1924, in Sterling, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Batzel Hazen. She was a graduate of Damascus High school and a member of the Equinunk Methodist Church and its Womans Society. She was employed at Camp Equinunk until she retired. Survivors include her husband, Frank Branning; a brother, Henry Hazen of Equinunk; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Bortree on January 4, 1989. Services were held at the Hessling Funeral Home in Honesdale, Rev. Gregory C. Myers, pastor of the Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale, officiated. Burial was in Calkins Union Cemetery in Manchester Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Equinunk United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice.
