Josephine Adams-Murphy, age 86 of Patterson, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Parkland Health Center in Farmington, MO. She was born January 23, 1936 in Portageville, MO, the daughter of Leonard and Inis (Agee) McGraw.

Jo was a long time resident of Iron and Wayne counties. She worked for many years as a book keeper for Duncan Redi Mix and also for Ruble Rock and Lime. Jo had worked with the Prison Fellowship Ministries and brought countless lost souls to the Lord. She was a member of Free Spirit General Baptist Church and taught children's Sunday School. She had also taught children's Sunday School at Des Arc Baptist Church. Jo loved gardening, bird watching, crafting, feeding her humming birds and her favorite cats.

Jo was married to Delmer "Buddy" Adams April 8, 1967 and he passed away February 5, 1991. She was then married to James Murphy September 21, 2000 and he survives her.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Leonard and Inis McGraw, 2 brothers, Verble and Edward McGraw, and one sister, Geneva Dollins.

Survivors include her husband, James Murphy, of the home, her daughter, Mary Beth Middleton and her husband Roland, of Vulcan, her two granddaughters, Renae Middleton, of Patterson and Kallie Middleton-Slade and her husband Braydon, of Farmington.

Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Alex McGraw and his wife Sheena, of Harrison, AR, Andy McGraw and his wife Toni, of Siloam Springs, AR, Velva Jean Swindle and her husband John, of Maryville, IL and Michael Swindle and his wife Kathy, of Maryville, IL.

In addition, she is survived by her extended family, Mary Murphy-Metcalf and her husband Ron, Sheila Gorham and her husband Gary, Keith Murphy and his wife Jenn, Paul Murphy and Sue Moody.

Visitation will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday at the Free Spirit General Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM Sunday at the church with Pastor Steve Sale officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. View Cemetery at Des Arc.
