age 89, of East College Avenue, Stanton, KY passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester, KY. Born in Stanton, KY he was the son of the late Christopher and Edith Hatton Abner and he was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corp. A local businessman, Harding and his family have operated Abner's Motel in Stanton, KY and Lil' Abner Motel and Restaurant in Slade, KY for many years. Surviving relatives are his wife, Helen Stokley Abner; his son, Billy and his wife Lois Abner of Winchester, KY; two grandchildren: Chad (Davida) Abner and Casey Abner of Winchester, KY; one great grandchild, Cacia Rose; three sisters-in-law: Millie Abner of Stanton, KY, Louise Abner of Lexington, KY and Della Abner of Florence, KY and loving traveling companion, his dog, Spot. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by eight brothers: Darcy Abner, Ledford Abner, Hubert Abner, Green Abner, Robert Abner, Richard Abner, Floyd Abner and Winfred Abner and by four sisters: Charity Abner, Bessie Abner, Rachel Abner and Beatrice Adams. Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. Until 8:00 P.M. On Monday, September 24, 2012 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. On Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Donnie G. Randall Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Highway 15, Stanton, KY. Gary Abner, J. T. Abner, Chris Abner, Karl Adams, John Parks and Steve Abner will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are employees and former employees of Abner's Motel, Glenville Powell, Talmadge Smallwood, Cletis Roy, Steve Hale, Damon and Mavis Adams, Eugene Abner and Mike Tipton.
