CREEDMOOR - Shirley Stephenson Adcock , 63, a resident of 3077 Hester Rd., died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at her home.
She was a native of Johnston County, the daughter of the late Amos and Mary Holland Stephenson, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a teacher's aid at the Durham county schools.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Dawson and Dr. Marcus Tilley. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are her husband, W. Horace Adcock , of the home; a daughter, Joni Adcock Autrey, of Oxford; two sons, William Mark Adcock and David "Toby" Rogers, both of Creedmoor; a brother, Albert Allen Stephenson, of Durham; and five grandchildren.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Church, Building Fund, c/o Guy Currin, Treasurer, 1155 Turner Rd., Creedmoor, N.C. 27522
Visitation will be held from 7:00 till 8:30 Thursday evening at the Eakes Funeral Home, in Creedmoor, and at other times at the home.
