Born March 5, 1939, in Evansville, she was the daughter of Chelsea and Exie (Osborne) Arbaugh. A 1957 Carmi High School graduate, she also graduated from Harrisburg School of Nursing, Feb. 18, 1960. She had worked at Deaconess Hospital for several years and retired from Eastgate Manor. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church, Eastern Star, Family Campers and Rivers Association.
She is survived by three children, Michael(Lisa)Arbaugh, Robert(Amy)Hixson, and Leland(Julie) Hixson; grandchildren, Brian Arbaugh, Kelley Parola, Jenna(Jarit)Clouse, Kirby(Ryan)Risch, Josh (Elisha)Hixson, Whitney, Ainsley and Allison Hixson; and great-grandchildren, Elliott Risch, Estelle Risch, Conner Woolley, Bryson Arbaugh, Ava Hixson and Adalee Hixson.
Her husband, Ronald Dale Hixson, whom she married Aug, 15, 1969, died March 15, 1998. Her parents and one brother, Robert Arbaugh, are also deceased.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gill Funeral Home, with Rev. Ron Raymond officiating.
Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
