Mr. Ralph C. Simmons, age 78, of Pendergrass passed away Friday, September 1, 2017, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, September 4, 2017, in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. The Rev. Jason Simmons and Rev. James Campbell will officiate.
Mr. Simmons was born October 8, 1938, to the late Verse and Lessie Brock Simmons, in Hollingsworth, Ga.
He was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church.
Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by a brother Jack Simmons and one sister Lurlene Bryant.
Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife of 59 years, Yvonne Simmons of Pendergrass; son and daughter-in-law; Ricky & Cheryl Simmons of Gainesville; son, Randy Simmons of Pendergrass; son and daughter-in-law; Ronald "Pee Wee" & Renee Simmons of Horton, Ala.; and daughter and son-in-law Rena & Ransom Ash of Dahlonega, Ga.; two brothers Bobby Simmons of Jackson County and Ray Simmons of Gainesville; two sisters Jewell Holtzclaw of Gainesville and Josephine Carroll of Clermont, Ga.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Gainesville, Ga.
