A Former Resident is Dead in the Far West

Milton Roberts, who for many years lived in this city, died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. A. Brown, at Lemoore, Cal., where he had resided some time. The telegram conveying the news to relatives here contained no particulars of Mr. Roberts' death, but it is believed to have resulted from a chronic ailment with which he had been suffering many years.

Mr. Roberts is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Brown of California and Mrs. R. B. Williams of Smithfield, Mo. He also leaves a brother, Alpheus Roberts, a well known farmer living north of Charleston. His wife died in this city a little more than three years ago.

The remains will not be brought east for interment, but will be buried at Lemoore, where his daughter, Mrs. Brown and family expect to make their permanent home.

The deceased at the time of his death was sixty-one years of age. He was born in Indiana and came to Coles County with his parents at an early age. The family settled near Charleston and since that time Mr. Roberts spent almost his entire life in this city.
