New York Death Index states that Marguerite Leffingwell died on 20 Mar 1945 in Colchester, New York. -------------Mrs. Marguerite Leffingwell of 140 Prospect Avenue, Hackensack, who died Tuesday at the home of her only daughter, Mrs G. Victor Treyz, Cooks Falls, N. Y Mrs. Leffingwell's death came as a shock to her friends, many of whom were not aware she was sick when she went to visit her daughter tne middle of last month. Born in Illinois, Mrs. Leffingwell was educated at Bradley Institute, Peoria, and was a graduate of the University of Chicago. She was married in 1906 to Clarence C. Leffingwell, and moved in 1910 to the home they built on Prospect Avenue. She was a member of the College Club and a charter member of the Woman's Club, Hackensack, which she had served as board member and as corresponding secretary. Her husband was associated with the advertising firm of George Batten Company until his death In 1917. In the early 1920's Mrs Leffingwell joined the faculty of the Hackensack High School where she was manager of its lunch room and taught in the Latin and German departments. Following her retirement in 1942 she resumed activity In club and civic affairs and was on the board of the local unit of the Girl Scouts of America. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Hackensack and of the Mother Church in Boston, Mass.
