Daughter of Raymond Paradise and Carrie Hermann. Married to Charles William (Bill) Alexander in 1946 and divorced in 1973. Married to William (Bill) Harper in 1974.

Margaret Isabelle Harper passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021, in Colville, Washington. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Feb. 21, 1926, to Raymond and Carrie (Hermann) Paradise.

Margaret grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she attended a Catholic parochial school and then graduated from Southport High School with the class of 1944.

Margaret's early years were met with some tragic times. Her mother died during childbirth when her sister Lucille was born, her brother, Charles, died ahead of the Battle of the Bulge, her fiancé was shot down and killed in the Army Air Force and her father passed away.

She met Charles William (Bill) Alexander while working for Eli Lilly and lived right near her. They were married eight days later in Greenwood, Indiana, in 1946.
They soon welcomed a son, Kenneth.

The young family moved to the Hollister/Salinas area of California and there welcomed their daughter, Lori.

Margaret and Charles tried their hand at running a poultry farm in California and later in Juanita, Washington. After a brief stay in Marysville, Washington, the family moved to Juanita, where they owned a poultry farm and later ventured into owning a successful construction business.

In the construction business, Margaret played an intricate role as decorator, painter, and wood-finisher.

They moved to Cedar Creek in 1968 and built their retirement home a year later. The two would divorce in 1973.

Margaret then met William (Bill) Harper and they married in 1974 and moved to Yelm, Washington, for about a year. They then lived in Bill's three-room cabin in the South Basin area for another year.

They finally settled down in the Evans, Washington, area where her son Ken built their home in 1977.

Margaret began her own business making porcelain dolls from scratch. She poured her own moulds, fired them in the kiln, knitted and sewed all of the clothing and painted each one with mastery.

She also made delicate porcelain eggs and plates, which she painted all by hand. At one point, she was selling her creations all over the Inland Northwest.
Shortly after building their second home in the Evans area, Bill Harper sadly passed in 2004.

Margaret had the Paradise trait of being stubborn almost to a fault, but she was a very responsible person who could see the big picture and would plan things out and have the perseverance to see them through to the end.

She always took great pride in her classy appearance.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Harper; all eight siblings, Raymond, Angela, William, Charles, Ramona, Francis, James and Lucille; twin daughters, Diane Carolyn and Suzanne Marilyn Alexander; and granddaughter, Julie Ann Alexander.

She is survived by her son, Ken (Cindy) Alexander, Evans; daughter, Lori Flikke, Spokane Valley, Washington; granddaughter, Lisa Olvera, Spokane, Washington; grandsons, Larry Alexander, Portland, Oregon, and Sean Flikke, Shoreline, Washington; 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
