Suggested edit: Thomas first married Teresa Jane Stephens, daughter of Thomas and Martha (Edington) Stephens. Have not found marriage record, Teresa is with Thomas in 1870 census household next door to her father, Pickens county, Georgia. Thomas' son Thomas Henry McDaniel, born 1871, names Teresa Jane Stephens as mother on his death certificate. Teresa Jane died about 1872. Thomas P. McDaniel remarried in 1876.
