Samuel D. Sauvain, 65, of Brilliant, Ohio, formerly of Mingo Junction, died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1941 in Canton, Ohio the son of the late Harry P. and Ruby Scar Sauvain. He was Catholic by faith and a member of Weirton Moose and Ohio Public Employees Retirement System. Sam was a retired sewage treatment plant operator for the Village of Mingo. Surviving are his children Terrie E. Sauvain & Samuel D. Sauvain II both of Sagamore Hills, Ohio and Ryan N. Sauvain of Mingo; former wife and mother of his children Mary JoAnn Sauvain of Mingo; and sister Marcia (Earl) Ferguson of Navarre, Ohio. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Avenue, Mingo on Sunday 2-7 p.m. and on Monday at St. Agnes Church from 9:15 a.m. until time of funeral liturgy with mass at 10 a.m. with Rev. James Dunfee officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Vigil service 7 p.m. Sunday Memorials may be directed to St. Agnes Grade School.
