Carlos Griego passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the age of 93.
Carlos was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Alice L. Griego and his son, Edward J. Griego.
Carlos is survived by his sons, Andy T. Griego and his wife, Peggy Griego and Stephen A. Griego and his wife, Lydia Griego, and daughter, Charlene T. Hernández and her husband, Steve Hernández, daughter-in-law, Wilma Griego and his grandchildren, Aliandra Maés, Stephanie Dameron, Jessica Hernández, Savannah Apodoca, Denise Fernández, Joann Griego, Dominique Griego, Angelique Griego, Chas Griego and Reggie Marshall. Carlos was fortunate to live to see the birth of nine great-grandchildren, Darren, Logan, Donovan, Bryleigh, Ella, Ethan, Mason, McKenzie and Preston. Carlos is also survived by his sister-in-law, Virginia Gabaldón.
Although a very reserved man and a man with very little words, he still made a strong statement in all our lives. May he be blessed as he has now received his wish to be with his wife.
A memorial honoring Carlos' life will be held at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St. NW, Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 9:00 a.m.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, there will be limited seating inside the church. While we wish all could attend, regrettably, an invitation to attend will be provided. The church does offer live broadcast via FM Radio from the church parking lot. For those unable to attend the services, click below for the live webcast. Due to the Rosary Service restrictions, we ask that you personally say a rosary in his honor. The family expresses their appreciation for your sympathy and understanding during these times. Graveside services will be private.
