Edna was the oldest of eight children born to Lina Pope Helm and Julia Standley Helm. She was born in Bosworth, Carroll County, Missouri. She moved with her parents and five siblings to the Oklahoma/Indian Territory by covered wagon. They settled near what is now Earlsboro, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. She married John Wesley Littleton, son of Isaac Benjamin Littleton and Mary Edwards. They had three children together: Thad, Bessie, and Willia Jean. After his death in 1900 she married Dock David Dyer in 1907, they had two children together: Vernie Martin Dyer and Virgil Wallace Dyer. From stories my father told me she was a very thrifty person. My aunt told me that she helped her mother raise her younger siblings.
