Warren F. Welch, 88, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away March 15, 2015. He served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation radioman third class. Warren was born on Sept. 26, 1926, in Severy, Kansas, to Frank and Lillie (White) Welch. He graduated from Fall River High School and attended Wichita State University.

He married Betty Jo Kelly in Wichita. Shortly thereafter they moved to Parsons, where he worked as an engineer for Anchortite Products, which later became Dayton Superior. Betty and Warren retired to Eufala, Oklahoma, where they enjoyed fishing, boating and travel. They took many trips to Colorado to go four-wheeling with his sister, Nina, and her husband, Bill. Until shortly before passing Warren was totally independent. He did his own shopping, went to doctor appointments alone and drove to church, movies and activities.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Barbara Honn and her husband, Larry, of Tucson; two grandchildren, Scott Honn of Dallas and Jennifer Rennie of New York City; two great-granddaughters, MacKenzie and Casey Honn of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lillie Welch; four sisters, Norma, Nina, Neema and Nureen; and his wife, Betty Jo Welch, in 2008.

He will be missed for his humor, calmness and quiet generosity. There will be a celebration of life service at 1 p.m. May 22 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kan. This will be a graveside service. In case of inclement weather the service will be in Potts Chapel in Caney. The Rev. Robert Banks will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
