Paul Edelbert Buchholz was the youngest child of Carl Wilhelm Buchholz Jr and Maria Dorothea Witt Buchholz. He was born 2nd of October 1888 in Davenport, Cass County, North Dakota. His 1917 WWI draft registration states he was single and living at home in Davenport with his parents who were dependent on him to run the farm. On the 4th of August 1919 he married Louise Rhoda Schulz of Wadena, Minnesota. During the next eleven years they had five children - Karl, Hope, Dorothy, Joyce and Philip. By 1940 the family was residing in Fargo, North Dakota and the 1940 Federal Census shows all their children were still living at home. Paul was 53 years of age when he registered for the WWII draft. It states he was employed by the City Park Board in Fargo. By 1971 Paul and Louise were living in California and she died that year. Paul passed away in Richmond, Contra Costa, California the 25th of August, 1981.
