Carl L. "Van" Renfrow, son of Fred and Ethel (Hull) Renfrow, was born May 16, 1936 in Denlow, Missouri. He departed this life April 17, 2021 at his home in Norwood, at the age of eighty- four years, eleven months and one day.

Van was a life long Wright county resident. He attended school in the area, and then enlisted in the United States Army. Van was a jack of all trades, his very first job was working for the Dickinson Zoo in Springfield, Missouri; he worked there before enlisting. After serving his country he received an honorable discharge. He was also known for working at the hardware store in Hartville and working for Wayne Dixon and Leo Coy as an electrician. He always worked hard and provided for his family.

Van was united in marriage to Sharon Moore on July 14, 1961 in Mansfield, Missouri, and from that day they have spent those almost 60 years together. Born to this union were two daughters, Carla and Sherry.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, his daughters, Carla Bates and her husband James of Huggins, Missouri and Sherry Dugger and her husband Garry of Hartville, Missouri, five grandchildren; Stephanie Amos and her husband Josh, Ryan Bates, Erin Malley and her husband Dylan, Dustin Kelley, Vanna Kelley and her significant other Chris Dugger, seven great-grandchildren; Hannah Curtis, Isaac Amos, Grace Kelley, Gavin Zeolia, Jase Kelley, Blake Kelley and Brandy Kelley, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Archie, Virgil, Bill, and Bob, four sisters; Lilly, Eva, Ruby and Bonnie.

Van had accepted Christ and was a member of Rock Chapel Church; where he served as deacon and had taught Sunday school for many years.

He enjoyed watching old westerns, being on his farm, taking care of his farm animals and raising dogs; Van's greatest love was for his family and friends; He was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and dear friend. We celebrate his wonderful life and will always cherish the many happy memories he created.
