Joseph Lavell (Red) Eaton died Monday following a long illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Ashley LDS Stake Center, conducted by Bishop Lyle Taylor. Burial, with military honors, was at the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Eaton was born May 16, 1903 in Vernal, to Earnest and Susannah McKowen Eaton. A veteran of World War II, he worked as a butcher and sheepherder in Vernal. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include a brother and two sisters: Stanley Eaton, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Dan (Mary) Carroll, Pleasant Grove; and Mrs. Ken (Reba) McLean, Maeser.
