Lucille James, 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2012. She was born on December 1, 1914 to Sam and Grace Cortimiglia in Franklin, LA. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Bob James, brothers - Johnnie Cortimiglia, Joseph Cortimiglia, Leo Cortimiglia, Lee Cortimiglia and sisters - Florence Poujol and Lena Hoffmeyer. She is survived by nieces Michelle Ulrich and Kathleen Leach and nephews, Sam Caciappo and Salvadore Cortimiglia

Lucille was a founding parishioner of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She and two of her brothers helped build the church (built in 1942). She and her family were very active members of the Santa Lucia Club where Lucille loved to dance and one of her favorite dance partners was Father John Paul.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home from 5-8pm with a 7pm Rosary to be recited. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 10 am at Queen of Peace Catholic church, 3011 Telephone Road, Houston, Texas 77023. Burial will follow mass at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
