Baxter K. Ayler, 88, of Mission, KS, passed away, Tuesday, October 30, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with burial in John-son County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church of Shawnee. Mr. Ayler was born in Columbus, Mo. He was a consignee for Phillips Petroleum for 32 years, delivering gas and oil to service stations and private businesses throughout the area. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shawnee. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ayler, of the home; daughters, Judy (Roy) Johansen, Pleasant Hill, Mo., Deb (Sam) Satterthwaite, Denver, Colo., and Jeanne (John) Schierloh, Grand Rapids, Mich.; sisters, Esther Taylor, Louise Burke, and Marjorie Acord; brothers, Darrel Ayler and John Ayler; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
