Ferol Wayne Girton, 91, passed away Wednesday April 14, 2021 in Springfield, Ohio.

Wayne was born in Terre Haute, June 20, 1929 to William Ferol and Amy Troxell Girton.

Wayne grew up in the Cowan area graduating from Cowan High School in 1947. He spent his entire life in Muncie, moving with his wife last summer to Ohio to be near his daughter.

Wayne served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War.

He retired from Borg Warner after 40 years. Wayne and his wife Ann enjoyed bowling, playing euchre and traveling around the United States. He was Ball State Cardinals' biggest fan in football, Men's and Women's Basketball, and faithfully followed the Cincinnati Reds.

He is survived by his wife Ann Girton of 58 years and was a loving father to his daughter Cathy (Jeff) Delk, Ohio; sons Steve (Teresa) Girton, Alabama and Bob Girton, Florida, sons Charles Pearson, Anderson, IN and Mike (Barb) Pearson, Michigan, and daughter Patricia (Joe) Cardaci Greenwood, IN. Wayne was a happy grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, with another one on the way; two sisters, Mary Lamb, Parker City, IN and Martha (Scott) Neville, Albany, NY; and sisters-in-law Kathryn Vermeulen, Muncie and Sue Eiholzer, New York; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Girton was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Eugene Lamb.

Private Graveside Services will be held at Tomlinson Cemetery.
