DEATH OF JOSEPH HOWERTON
Joseph Howerton, died at 11:15 Tuesday night, at his home on the Michael Haase farm, West of this city. He had been ill for six or eight weeks but was able to be up and around part of the time. His illness was caused by becoming overheated in the harvest field, this season. He is survived by a wife and two sons, one about five years of age and the other about ten.
The Body will be taken to Mooresville, Friday morning at 9:20 over the interurban. Short services will be held at the cemetery there.

The remains of Mr. Howerton were brought from near Martinsville and interred, here Friday morning. Mrs. Howerton, who with two sons survive, [who] was formerly Miss Ella Comer, of this place, and is assured of the sympathy of her many friends here.
