Aunt Elizabeth was a strong, wonderful woman. She was the hub of the Brinkley family after their mother passed away. She is responsible for her family's link to their ancestry in so many ways. She was sincerely devoted to family all of her life, adored by her husband and children, she also was deeply loved by her brothers and sisters and all of her nieces and nephews.
Obituary:
"Elizabeth B. Orrico, 80, 20 Cole Street, wife of Frank P. Orrico, died Monday, November 5, 1990 at York Hospital.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, March 26, 1910, she was the daughter of Wade H. and Martha (Hall) Brinkley, and was a graduate of Longwood College in Virginia.
Mrs. Orrico had been a teacher for Oceana, Virginia schools for 17 years. She coached the girls basketball team there.
She was a member of the Democratic Town Committee in Kittery, and attended St. John's Episcopal Church in Portsmouth. She was also active with Meals-on-Wheels and the Cub Scouts and Brownies.
In addition to her husband of Kittery, survivors include a son, David E. Orrico of Portland; two daughters, Martha M. Visscher of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Theresa O. Smith-Petersen of Portland; two brothers, Hugh Brinkley and Stuart Brinkley, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a sister, Winifred Brinkley of Lynchburg, Virginia; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date."
