Mai Opal Abston McFarland was the daughter of Matthew Abston and Nora Bender Abston. She married James Campbell McFarland on April 19, 1925 in Wilson County, TN.

Her name was spelled as Mia Ople Mcfarland on her death certificate; the marriage license was listed as May Abston. In her son's obituary in 2021, the name was spelled Mai Opal Abston McFarland, so this is what I am using on this memorial.
