In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy Whitley and Keith Whitley, three nephews, John Dwight Whitley, Michael Keith Whitley and Jordan Whitley as well as her husband Ferrell Bailey.
She is survived by a brother, Dwight Whitley, a son Robert Allen "Bobby" Skaggs, a granddaughter, Bobbi Jac Skaggs; nieces, Kim Whitley Gahm and Morgan Whitley Cook; nephews, Nathan Whitley, Jesse Keith Whitley and her Pomeranian fur baby, Max.
Mary was of the Christian faith and loved her family so much. She spent her life caring for those she loved, first her brothers, then her parents, her son Bob, being the only child, she wanted to give him the world and finally her husband when he was ill, always the caretaker.
She began her career teaching school as an emergency teacher at 18 years of age with only one semester of college under belt. She was one of the earliest employees of Adding to Bros. Inc, working for them for eight years, supervising office personnel. She also worked for 10 years as a salesperson in communications.
Mary took pride in her home, always painting and decorating. She always had showcase decorall created and implemented by Mary.
She loved to entertain. She hosted family holiday dinners, cooking delicious dishes for everyone to rave about.
Mary's appearance was of utmost importance to her. She loved clothes, jewelry and shoes, always striving to dress appropriately for every occasion. She will be missed and remembered by friends and family.
