Mary and her husband Luther lived in the Spiritualist community of Lily Dale NY. They had a son, Robert, (1916-1940) but he had died in 1940 in NYC.
Mary Maud was an aunt to the very famous and wonderful comedienne Lucille Ball. Lucille was the child of Mary Maud's brother Henry. Henry died very young in 1915. . Lucy did indeed visit her aunt Mary Maud Ball Shipman at Lily Dale, and stayed herself at "the Wee House" a cute cottage in Lily Dale. My friend Jackie's mom knew Lucy.
Mary Maud's listed next of kin was her brother Frank C. Ball who was then living in Watts Flat, NY . Her remains were sent to Sinclairville NY to her funeral director.
(The NY registry says Luther married Carrie Maud Ball who was born in 1880. The names and dates are close but don't line up. Could be errors somewhere, or Luther married sisters)
