Roy Aldridge, 22 years old, died at the Kentucky Baptist Hospital at 5:40 o'clock Sunday afternoon from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near New Castle, Ky. at 7 o'clock Saturday night in which a cousin, Miss Minnie Smith, 17 injured fatally and two others suffered minor cuts and bruises. All were from Bedford, Ky. The accident occurred two miles west of New Castle when the motor containing Mr. Aldridge and the others collided with a truck loaded with watermelons. They were taken to the home of Dr. Owen Carroll, New Castle, for first aid. The girl died an hour later and Aldridge was brought here for treatment. Dr. E. S. Allen, with offices in the Francis Building, was called in to treat Mr. Aldridge. He said the man suffered a multiple fracture of the skull. Those suffering minor injuries were Miss Nettie Smith, 22, and Shelby Aldridge, 19, sister and brother of the other two victims. Aldridge leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Aldridge, Bedford; another brother and a sister.
