HILDA ERNESTINE BAILEY RICH
1907 - 2007
Ernestine Rich, 93, died peacefully October 27, 2007 at the home of her youngest son, Roy, from complications of Lou Gehrig's Disease.
She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Robert and Mollie Rich of DeLand, FL, Larry and Ava Rich, and Roy and Bennie Jean Rich of Pensacola; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christopher, Robert, Allen, Randy Rich and Penny Rich Trivette. She had nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clifton Rich Sr. (1913-1972), also a life-long resident of Pleasant Grove; her parents, Ernest Bailey and Hattie Daw Bailey; four brothers; three sisters, and two infant daughters.
Ernestine was born in Myrtle Grove, and at the age of four, moved with her family to Pleasant Grove where she spent the rest of her life. She was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, and was an active member and supporter of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 88 years.
For 33 years and nine months, she was employed by the Escambia County School System as a school bus driver. She also served for many years as a staff member in the Pleasant Grove Elementary School cafeteria.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Kincaid and his staff, and Covenant Hospice for their loving care.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:30 at the Church with Brother Jack Gambill officiating.
Burial will be at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
