Donie P. Phillips, 84, of Route One, Prospect, died Tuesday, April 23, 1985, at the Hillside Hospital.


A native of Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Dennis Poarch and Annie Helmont Poarch and was married to the late Earnest P. Phillips.


Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Carr and Erwin chapel with burial in Pettusville Cemetery, Mark Johnson officiating.


Survivors include seven sons, Walter Phillips of Ohio, Edward Phillips of Massachusetts, Thomas, Louis, Floyd and Loyd Phillips, all of Indiana, Aaron Phillips of Minor Hill; five daughters, Myrtle Tucker of Pulaski, Grace Appleton and Mattie Gatlin, both of Bethel, Mablean Scott of Ardmore, AL, Louise Pierce of Indiana; two brothers, David Poarch of Huntsville, AL., Ernest Poarch of Manchester; one sister, Sally Vaughn of Indiana; 54 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.


Caldonia "Donie" Poarch married Earnest Phillips on November 2, 1913, Giles Co, TN.
