Donald Wayne Brittain, 72, Foristell, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at his home.

He was born April 21, 1942, in Bragg City, the son of Jessie Brittain and wife Edna. Donald was the beloved husband of Diane Brittain, nee Brock, who preceded him in death. He was employed as a service manager. Donald also was a veteran who served in the U.S. Marines.

He was a member of Machinists Union Local 777, Wentzville VFW Post 5327, Wentzville American Legion Post 323, and Pauldingville No. 11 Masonic Lodge. Donald enjoyed farming, hunting and being outdoors.

He is survived by his two sons, Jerry (Sue) Brittain and Tom (Dayna) Brittain, all of Foristell; two daughters, Tammy (Rick) Schmitt and Keriann Brittain, all of Wright City; five brothers, Jessie Brittain, James Brittain, both of Warrenton, Eddie Brittain, Bill Brittain, both of Michigan state, and Joe Brittain, Wright City; and two sisters, Ruth Frey, O'Fallon, and Mildred (Alvin) Dorman, Foristell. He was the loving grandfather of seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Donald will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Brittain; mother of his children, Judy Brittain; parents, Jessie and Edna Brittain; one brother, Kenneth Brittain; one sister, Lenora Pinkley; and one sister-in-law, Norma Brittain.

Interment in Linn Cemetery, Wentzville.

The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
