He was born November 14, 1927 in Marion to the late Ralph Heber and Myrtle (Hedges) Askew; he was also preceded in death by his wife Elva Anna (Norris) Askew, they were married February 23, 1949 in Kentucky and she died October 5, 2012. Jim was a 1945 graduate of the Harding High School. He served our country in the United States Army. But he really had a passion for the water and fishing, he and his family have spent countless time (over 50 yrs.) at Lake Erie. He always had the best fish frys and loved taking numerous boat trips.
