Mabel M. Humphreys

Mabel M. Humphreys, 86, of Harrisville, died Feb. 20, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg.

She was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Marlinton, W.Va., the daughter of the late Charles H. and Sarah Ellen Burge Propst.

Mabel graduated from Franklin High School in 1934 and retired from Mid Atlantic Glass Co., Ellenboro, in 1981, with 37 years service. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Harrisville, for 48 years. She taught Sunday School, worked with UMYF and was secretary for the Administrative Council for several years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Bernard Beall; two grandchildren, Larry Dean Beall, and Pamela Sue Morton and her husband, John; and three great-grandchildren, Rachel Ellen and Ryan Andrew Morton, and Dylan Scot Beall, all of Harrisville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Davis Humphreys; three brothers, Roy, Ed and Earl Propst; and three sisters, Mae Mossor, Lena Lantz and Florence Propst.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark E. McCutcheon and the Rev. Hugh C. Boone officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Friends may call at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, Saturday from 3-9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-12 noon, and from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
