William H. Ritenour, 87, of Woodbridge, died peacefully April 2, 2021 at Inova Fairfax. He had battled colon cancer for the past 5 years. He was born March 26, 1934 to the late Louie and Mertie Heflin Ritenour in Virginia. He worked 38 years with the United States Postal Service, and 16 years with Prince William County. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time along with spending time with his family.

Mr. Ritenour is preceded in death by his parents, and 4 brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 67 years, 9 months, and 5 days, Peggy Ritenour; children, Mike Ritenour (Linda), Debbie Kane (Bobby), and Megan Ritenour-Bailey (Terry); grandchildren, Theresa Burton (Dave), Bill Ritenour (Kristine), Justin Kane (Sherry), Travis Kane (Ashleigh), and Will Bailey; and 12 great grandchildren. He also leaves his therapy cats Jax and Max, and close family friends, Ed and Evelena Crosby.
He was a member of the American Legion, and Grace Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Grace Baptist Church, 14242 Spriggs Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22193, St. Jude's at www.stjude.org/donate, ASPCA at www.secure.aspca.org/donate , or a charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends from 10am to 11am Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church, 14242 Spriggs Rd. Woodbridge, VA 22193. A Life Celebration service will begin at 11am, followed by interment Stonewall Memory Garden, Manassas, VA.
