GRAHAMSVILLE - Zophar Aldrich, 78, Denman Mountain Road, formerly of Dutchess County, died Monday at Vassar Hospital - Mr. Aldrich was a retired tool grinder.
While he lived In the Poughkeepsie area he was employed at International Business Machines Corp. and the Federal Bearings Co. Inc.
He was a member of the Warren Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons, Schultzville; was an officer of Revonah Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Liberty, and Shekomeko Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Poughkeepsie. He also w a s a communicant ' of the Netherwood Baptist Church, Salt Point.
Born in Sundown, March 7, 1894, he was the son of Isaac and Bertha (Swartwout) Aldrich. He married the former Helen Hill July 2, 1932, in Grahamsville.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Wilber, Tucson, Ariz., and Howard, Chesapeake, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Maria Patten, Oneonta, and Mrs. Audrey Howel, Modesta, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Emma Hamilton, Sundown; nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted Friday, 2 p.m., at the Donald H. Bury Funeral Home Inc., Ellenville, with the Rev. Newton B. Ford officiating. The Mongaup Lodge, F. and A. M., will conduct services Thursday at the funeral home at 8 p.m.
Friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Burial will be in the Rural Cemetery, Grahamsville.
