According to research on Ancestry.com, Marjorie (Margery) Constant and Katherine Constant were daughters of Archibald and Mariah (Latham) Constant of Logan County, Illinois. They were probably related to Lucy (Latham) Curtner, the second wife of Henry Curtner.

The Berkeley Gazette, Dec. 12, 1898. "Miss Katherine Maude Constant died Sunday morning at 11:15 o'clock at her rooms at 2320 Bancroft way, from spinal troubles. Miss Constant, who was an artist, had lived in Berkeley about two years. Several years ago, while in Europe studying art, Miss Constant, with a party of friends, was climbing in the Alps and fell into a cravasse, injuring her spine and bringing on the trouble which resulted in her death. The deceased was a native of Springfield, Ill., and came to California for her health."
