A memorial service for Nellie I. Blackaby of McMinnville will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, McMinnville.
Private family interment will be held.
Mrs. Blackaby died Feb. 21, 2001, in Parkland Village retirement center, McMinnville. She was 79.
Born Oct. 13, 1921, in Henley, Mo., she was the daughter of Marion and Mary Hoskins Gilpin. She grew up and went to school in Henley.
Mrs. Blackaby moved to Jefferson City, Mo., and to the Fulton area of Missouri. She retired from Fulton State Hospital in 1992 after 15 years there.
She moved to Battleground, Wash., in 1994, and later came to McMinnville.
She was a Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Whitney of McMinnville and Thomas Dean of Battleground, Wash.; three daughters, Mary Young of McMinnville, Patricia Carrington of St. Joseph, Mo., and Rita Hoelscher of Jefferson City, Mo.; a sister, Louise Ramsour of St. Charles, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, in care of Macy & Son, 135 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville, OR 97128.
