A native of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, Mr. Turner came to Palestine about 1930 and worked as a bricklayer and contractor. He moved to Neches several years ago, continuing to work in Palestine until he became ill.
He was a member of the Neches United Methodist Church and the Neches Masonic Lodge.
survivors include his wife Mrs. Josephine Eddins Turner of Neches; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Ann) Fisher of Kerrville, Mrs. J.E. (Martha) Gardner of Grand Prairie and Mrs. B.R. (Gay) Sublett of Dickinson; three grandchildren; two brothers, Milton Turner and Homer Turner; four sisters, Mrs. Alonzo Furr, Mrs. Brooks Austin, Mrs. Ralph Barbee and Mrs. William Beatty.
