AGE 78 YEARS
James Philip Della-Volpe, entered the eternal presence of the Lord on Holy Thursday, April 1, 2021, with his family by his side. Born and raised in Brockton, a resident of Gray Gables, Massachusetts and Williamsburg, Florida, Jim was an avid fisherman, a self-taught craftsman, artist, and gardener. He was a great cook and baker, delighting in bread making. We have all learned how important family and friendships are, and Jim, a friend to all who knew him, will be missed terribly, but memories will keep him alive in our hearts forever.
Jim was the son of the late Rose (Perrotta) and Oreste DellaVolpe. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Diane (Moriarty), Jim is survived by his children, John and his wife Linda of Concord, Massachusetts, and their 3 children, and Kristen Moody and her husband Michael of Weymouth, Massachusetts, and their 2 children. Jim was the brother of Elaine Gardner of North Easton, Massachusetts, and Dona Bettale of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Conley Funeral Home, BROCKTON, Massachusetts.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
Due to Covid, a celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later time.
Published in Boston Globe from Apr. 3 to Apr. 4, 2021.
