Mrs. Ed Cihak Dies at Omaha

Mrs. Ed (Camilla) Cihak, 74, a former longtime resident of Creston, died at 11:40 p.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Homolka, at Omaha, Nebraska. She had been in failing health for the past 2 1/2 years.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Malachy's Catholic church here. Rev. Fr. Patrick O'Shea will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Her body will lie in state at Coens Home for Funerals until time for the services. The Rosary will be said at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Wednesday by St. Malachy's Society, and at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Camilla Cihak was born in Czechoslovakia, July 17, 1884. She was the daughter of Albert and Katherine Dvorak Cihak. She came to this country when she was 18 years old and lived at Exira. She was married there November 4, 1903 to Edward C. Cihak. They came to Creston in 1917. She lived here until after the death of her husband, November 22, 1955, when she moved to Omaha to make her home with her daughter.

Mrs. Cihak is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Camilla) Homolka and Mrs. Beatrice Pallat, both of Omaha, Nebraska; five granddaughters and a grandson; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Bohumil Cihak in Czechoslovakia; and several nieces and nephews. Two sons, Edward J. and Albert, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Cihak was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic church.
