From the LaFollette Press, Tuesday, December 3, 1935:

"Mrs. Mary Booth Rites Tuesday"

Mrs. Mary Booth, of Jellico, age 59, died at her home November 27 and funeral services were held Thursday November 28 at the First Baptist Church in Jellico. She is survived by four sons and two daughters. She was a member of the Baptist Church and had lived in the county several years.

Burial was in Jellico Cemetery. Minton Sharp directed the funeral.I cannot read what is written as the burial place on her death record however, the undertaker was from Lafollette, TN so I am assuming that she is either buried somewhere in Whitley County, KY or Campbell County, TN.

She married James Booth in 1892 & they had at least 5 children that I know of, if anyone has any additional info to add to this memorial please contact me.

In a 1900 census record James Booth is age 35, Mary Wilson Booth is age 25 with 3 children in the home.

In a 1910 census record Mary is widowed as James died 1 Apr 1910 at age 45, Mary is age 37 & there are 5 children in the home.

In a 1920 census record Mary is age 46, there is a female child named "Lilly Booth" age 5 that Mary is raising which is her grandchild, also in the home is Mary Wilson Booth's mother Gencie Wilson age 73 which states that she is also widowed as well.

Transcribers note: I was not able to find a headstone for Mrs. Booth . There are many old headstones that can no longer be read, or maybe she never got one. If you can find her burial location in the cemetery, please post a photo.
