Nellie Margaret Royall, 94, of De Leon, peacefully passed away April 1, 2021, with her loving family by her side. She was born September 4, 1926, in Coleman, Texas to W.M. Earl And Dora Mae (McBride) Greaves. Nellie married Lytle Eugene (Gene) Royall on December 8, 1956.
Nellie was raised in Coleman and graduated from school there. She and Gene moved to De Leon in 1976 from San Angelo. She was employed for many years as a clerk for The Selective Service Draft Board. Nellie was a Baptist and loved the Lord. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening. She loved to play games (especially scrabble), work puzzles, cook and read. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, selfless mother, involved grandmother; and loyal friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Eric Royall (Kathy); daughter, Bari Atchley (Rocky); grandchildren, Adrienne Royall, Kara Cox (Bobby), Wesley Royall (Lindsey), Ethan Royall (Carsey), Kayla Atchley and Emilie Royall; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Ashlynn, Kindle, Kaydi, Westin and Ezekiel; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; son, Cody Royall; parents; brothers, Clifford, Mark, Raymond, Ed and Leslie, and sister, Neva Baxter.
Funeral services celebrating Nellie's life were held Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Comyn Baptist Church with Brother Ray Seckinger officiating.
